We Handle the Supply & DNO Process
A DNO, or Distribution Network Operator, is the company responsible for the local electricity network and the incoming supply serving your property. It is separate from the electricity supplier that sends your bills.
EV chargers can place a significant additional load on a property’s electrical supply. Before installation, we assess the incoming supply, main fuse, consumer unit, existing electrical demand and any other significant loads at the property.
We then determine whether the charger can be installed and notified afterwards, whether approval is required before installation, or whether load management or a supply-capacity increase may be needed.

Connect & Notify
Where the existing supply has sufficient capacity and the installation meets the required criteria, we can usually install and commission the charger before submitting the required notification to the DNO.

Apply Before Installation
Where the proposed charger may exceed the available supply capacity, we submit an application to the DNO and obtain approval before completing the installation.
This may apply where the property has a smaller or unknown main fuse, a looped supply, several high-load appliances or multiple proposed charging points.

Supply Upgrade or Load Management
Where necessary, the DNO may require an upgrade to the main fuse, incoming supply or local network. In many cases, intelligent load management can control the charging demand and help avoid unnecessary upgrades.
